Global Intern Strike
On 20th February 2017, the UN day for Social Justice, young people across the world will come together to say NO to the exploitative and exclusionary practice of unpaid internships.
Coordinated by the Global Intern Coalition, actions will take place in a range of cities. We will demand that employers and leaders ensure quality internship opportunities that are accessible to all – regardless of their socioeconomic background.
12.30 – 13.30 : MARCH OF THE MISSING
Place des Nations
We will gather on Place Des Nations at 12:30 to show our solidarity with the thousands of young people across the world who cannot be here, just because they are unable to afford to work for free. We will share their stories through recordings and photos showing their testimonies. You can share your or your friends’ story by writing to fii.geneva@gmail.com
Food and warm drinks will be provided for free!
18:30: ASSEMBLY and WORKSHOPS @ Impact Hub Geneva, Rue Fendt 1, 1201 Geneva
In the evening we will meet at The Impact Hub at 18.30 to share ideas on how internships can be improved, share important internship career tips and hear from a range of intreresting speakers and experts on the issue.
