Concerns Over Growing Ranks of UN Consultants

 

CNN news has published a piece following up on a critical report by the Joint Inspection Unit, on the UN’s employment trend of consultants. According to the 2014 report, 45% of the UN workforce are under “non-staff” contracts.

The issue is in that non-staff contracts are not strictly inline with international good labour practices. The report also draws on some of the issues with consultancies that are also seen with internship, in terms of inaccessibility. To listen to the full news report, click here>>.
